APPLICATIONS AND APPROVAL OF SPECIAL FREE ZONES
What are Special Free Zones? Those that because of the nature of their processes or geographical or economic considerations or the infrastructure of the country, require a special location.
All requests must be deposited in writing, with the company letterhead paper, RNC number, address, phone and fax numbers. In case it is a special free zone, it most be specified and addressed to the Executive Director of the National Free Zones Council, signed by the president and/or the person properly authorized by the company.
When the company or park is already in operation it should include its stamp.
The request must be place at the National Free Zones Council, with the following documents:
- Twenty (20) copies of the Technical-Economic feasibility study of the project.
- The activity to be performed is in accordance with at least one of the definitions explained in this document.
- Copy of the documents of constitution of the requesting company
- The projected investment of the company should be completely new and / or additional to the existing one. In the event of an additional investment, this should represent at least 30% of the total investment of the company.
- Letter of request addressed to the National Free Zones Council.
- Property titles and / or letter of purchases or lease intent of the land for a minimal term of five years in the name of the company, specifying the superficial extension of the land as well as their limits and a copy of the cadastral design drawing reduced.
- When is a new investment, the construction of the buildings, and a copy of the design drawings.
- Requirement payment for One hundred Fifty Three Thousand Dominican Pesos (RD$153,000.00) (see list attached in the instruction for applying and to establish a free zone company) in a check issued for National Free Zones Council (See list of costs).
- Fulfill all requirements deemed necessary by the National Free Zones Council for the evaluation and submittal of the project.
